The little toaster wants to have a NORMAL HUMAN body, to be able to GO OUTSIDE into the HUMAN WORLD and make friends. Our main cast is a reclusive and cooky SCIENTIST who has CREATED a toaster with ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE to make him MORE DELICIOUS FOOD since he likes toast so much. I will highlight some facts with capitalization that I find curious with respect to my previous theories. Right, so if you have read it, or choose to be spoiled anyway, then let’s continue. It won’t take long to read, so don’t spoil the experience! So what’s the deal about this? Before I go further ahead, if you haven’t read it, I recommend you go and read it at Mangarock or somewhere, because I am going to completely spoil the big plot twists in it, and it’s a fun and short little story with nice feels. From my understanding, Kaiu Shirai-san has already written 300 pages of the Neverland script before even meeting Posuka Demizu-sensei, and this oneshot was only prepped after that. They prepared Poppy’s Wish, and after a positive reception, The Promised Neverland was approved for serialization as well.

Since Kaiu Shirai-san was a complete newcomer and they haven’t even worked together before with Posuka Demizu-sensei, SWJ wanted to test the waters and see what reaction a story by them would get. Right, so who among you has read Poppy’s Wish? It is the debut oneshot that Kaiu Shirai-san and Posuka Demizu-sensei did in SWJ before starting the Promised Neverland serialization. If you are not familiar, check my tpn theory tag, as I won’t be explaining all the details again. This issue of my Mindblowing Theories TM doesn’t technically have manga spoilers, but it references both my theory on the SECRET behind the “DEMONS” and the BIRTH origin of NORMAN. I know that I probably seem like a crazy person by now, but these ideas just keep on coming the more I look at and think about The Promised Neverland. So I bet you thought that I was done screaming about TPN theories and foreshadowing and how it all connects… at least for a little bit…īut no, I am afraid that I have too much time to think on my 40 min bike commute to work, and I am back again like On the other hand, it should be perfect fic material. I can see Ray being a good match and supportive partner to Emma, but it wouldn’t add much to the story in my opinion. They are not really small children anymore, so this hand holding may have passed as not a big deal when they were 11, but they are 13 now… I mean Emma held Norman’s hands when she was pleading with him in chapter 127… that’s pretty damn intimate for Japanese audiences. Given the circumstances, it may be explored again in the current chapters (SPOILERS FOR LATEST CHAPTER LEAK). It was also used again when Norman was shipped to add dramatic tension to the scene (doesn’t his gentle feelings and expression make this scene even more heartbreaking). It can be used for plot, and frankly it had already been in the first arc when Norman gave his justification to Ray for supporting Emma’s wish unquestioningly because he liked/loved her. The thing about noremma right now is that they care deeply about each other in whatever sense, and there is conflict and tension between them, so there is drama. TPN is focused on drama and conflict, so if we are seeing any romance, it will be rooted in there. TPN isn’t really a moe or slice of life or shojou manga, so traditional, cute romance that just works out isn’t its focus. I can see it being shown in an epilogue scene, but not really explored in the manga. Sure, why not? They spent a lot of time together and get along just fine, but that’s also what makes it narratively uninteresting for me.
